Halverson Funeral Home was founded in 1958 by Mr. Robert H. Halverson. The building was originally a private residence that was built in 1926 by the Krebs family. In 1986, an addition was added to the building which included a spacious chapel and viewing room, casket selection room, office and additional garage space. In 1998, Mr. Halverson retired and sold the business to a local funeral director, James H. Kight, present owner and operator of the funeral home. Mr. Kight has continued in the funeral home's tradition of providing dignified and professional services that cater to the personalized wishes of each family.

Kight, owner and funeral director, has been a licensed funeral director in the state of West Virginia since 1975, and in Pennsylvania since 1977, having worked in the Somerset Area for the last 29 years in the profession.
